There is all this concern about if the Berry eaglets are both getting enough to eat. They are! There are cases where there isn't enough food being brought to the nest, and the bigger chick will dominate the feedings. But I don't think that is the case here. It seems that there is plenty of food being brought to the nest. So, if you view one feeding and see one chick getting more than the other, it's probably because the situation was reversed during the previous feeding. The hungriest chick will go after the food more aggressively. Once it's appetite is satisfied, it will hang back (either during that feeding or the next one) and the other chick will get more of the food. From what I have seen, they are both getting plenty to eat!
I got some video of Mom Berry protecting her chicks from the rain today. (I love the rewind ability on the cam. I can see something happen, rewind a couple of minutes, and capture it to share!) I love seeing Mom Berry spread her wings a bit to protect her chicks from the rain.
Here's a link to a short video (2:40) that starts with the above scene... (Note the white-wash starting on the back branches. On 2/27, those branches were clean. On 2/28, the white-wash started. And it will continue to go higher and higher... And was added to during this short video!)
Bald Eagle Buddy got some goldfish, leftover after some Grebe patients were released into the wild. It looks like the goldfish were already dead. So, it's a good use of leftovers and it gave Buddy something interesting in his day. Watch him show off his hunting skills! (13:30)
