Nest Cam Round-up: White-bellied Sea Eagle Day 6, Africam Black Eagle, and Dyfi Osprey

Will the rain never end at the White-bellied Sea Eagle nest?! At sunrise, Mom was in Mombrella mode.

Look at all of those nestovers! It's funny, the people who monitor this nest used to say how the WBSE doesn't have such a messy nest like Bald Eagles do. They are now thinking that they need to re-evaluate the messy nest situation.

Look at how wet Mom is. Poor thing!

You know how a cat will bring its owner a dead bird? Sharing with its owner... Being the provider... Well, Dad brought Mom a frog. A frog! She picked it up and held it for a while. It seems like she wasn't really sure what to do with it.

She was like a kid with a rag doll, refusing to put it down.

Bald Eagle Azalea was once photographed eating a bullfrog.

Mom looks a little confused. "You expect me to feed the baby WHAT?!"

She eventually jumped up with the frog still in her mouth. The next time we see her, it's without the frog. I'm not sure if she ate it or got rid of it... The baby is soaking wet again today. It opened its mouth like it thought it thought it was getting a bite of food.

Looking at Mom, waiting for some food.

But Mom stretched and settled back down to incubate.

At the Africam Black Eagle nest, the chick was attempting to self feed while sitting down. Kinda funny...

The chick has seen the parents demonstrate proper form often enough: Stand on the food and tear pieces off with your beak.

The chick was getting some pretty good bites -- hard to see with s'caps.

Wow, what a look!

One of the parents came to the nest and the chick took a big step onto the food, trying to claim it.

This looks like a Mexican stand-off, doesn't it? The parent ended up eating too...

Later in the day, the chick was back to hiding out. This is probably a survival mechanism...

At the Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust's Dyfi Osprey Project nest there's one in the nest, one on the high perch, and one on the low perch.
