Berry College Eagles Day 54&56 Not Doing Anything, Harrison Bay Eagles Day 10&12 Covered Up, Dyfi Osprey (Bottoms Up) Video

It looks like the parents are trying to encourage the eaglets to self-feed. A squirrel was delivered to the nest today and the parent just walked away. But there was no rush by the eaglets to claim it, no mantling to protect it, no attempt to self-feed... So, the parent came back and fed them. Here's a link to a short video of the eaglets looking at the food and asking the other, "Are you going to eat that?" (2:54) There was also a funny moment today. One of the eaglets took a tumble and the other one laughed. Here's a link to the Oops video. (0:41) And a couple of s'caps from today. These are happy faces when they first spy an approaching food delivery:

Remember when everyone was worried about sibling rivalry? Now the two eaglets are best buds!

The temps are getting warmer and we will see a lot of panting from now on...

Today at the Harrison Bay nest, we saw how to dig in the nest:

And then spit out a mouthful of grass and cover up the baby:

I guess it's like sleeping with a blanket...

You have to remember when watching these cams that it may look like the babies are alone (like in the s'cap above). But a parent is usually nearby:

Look at these babies, getting right in the middle of the action:

There's a puddle of gray tonight at the nest:

If you only watch one video this week, make it this one! It's of the male Osprey at the Dyfi nest, and it's hilarious! (0:22) It's not mine, but I wish it were!
