I watched the Southwest Florida Eagle nest for a few hours today. I saw some sibling rivalry, but nothing too bad. It looks like E8 is learning to lay low until E7 has been fed. I saw E8 get plenty of food today. I didn't see anything too concerning while I was watching and E8 seems to be in fine shape. Here's my s'caps from the day. Mombrellas are good at shading the babies from the hot sun:

Mom hopped onto one of the nest branches so she could survey her territory:
That is a HUGE crop on E8! Being fed here by Dad while Mom feeds E7.

Afterward, Mom dropped down onto a branch and did some feaking. She better be careful with her tongue hanging out the side!

The chick did get up and stretch once while I was watching.
Then it settled down for the night.
The Big Sur Condor checked out the world outside its window.
This bird has a huge wingspan!
I found out that this nest is an old hollow Redwood that has been struck by lightening or was in a forest fire, resulting in the burned interior wall. Leaves and sticks have fallen inside to create a nice nest.
The parents only feed the chick every few days. It may take a while before I find one of them at the nest.
I have no idea what normal behavior is for a Condor chick. But I think it was dancing today... Check out the Dancing Chick video (2:36)
Here's Dad at the Dyfi Osprey nest.
Many times, when you see a bird "lighten the load" it is getting ready to fly. So, prepare your camera when you see this. (And yes, he flew away right after this.)
He brought a stick to the nest a short while later.
He knew exactly where he wanted to place it, then he took off again.
Lots of Canada Geese at the nest site.
A little later, Dad returned to his favorite perch with a fish.
He waited for a long time to see if one of his fledglings was going to come and claim it. When nobody showed up, he ate it...
He's got the last bite (the tail fin) in his mouth here. He swallowed it whole!
Then he did some feaking to clean off his beak.
I brought up the Scottish Wildlife Trust's Loch of the Lowes Osprey cam this morning to find FR4 in the nest. She flew away 6 seconds later! Talk about good timing... They have posted an update on their blog.
It was a nice day at the White-bellied Sea Eagle nest today.
SE16 is getting a bite of breakfast.
They are really filling up the nest bowl now! I expect they will escape the nest bowl any day now.
Big and little...
We've been spotted! I can see pin feathers along SE16's wing edge.
Today is day 104 for the Berry College Bald Eagle. I took some video today of Mom and B3 in the nest. B3 was eating and wouldn't share with Mom. There was also some nest fluffing, preening, feaking, and Mom flew from the front branch. Here's a link to the video. I also posted some video today that I took on 5/27 of the blue jay harassing B3. The eaglet farthest from the cam looks really big compared to the other two. I'd guess the farthest eaglet is a female.
Wheeeee! I saw two of the eaglets wingercizing today. Fun times to watch the cams.
This eaglet in the sunlight already has that fierce eagle look. One of the adults at this nest always has a fierce look -- like parent, like child.
The Two Harbors eaglet had just gotten a food delivery. She was standing on it in this s'cap.
In this next s'cap, she was trying to move but also had the branches in her grip (left foot). She was having a hard time moving and was squeeing the whole time.
I couldn't get the close-up cam at the White Rock nest to work today. This is the wide-angle view.

Mom Berry College Bluebird was wet today on one of her returns to the nest. Not sure if she'd been out for a bird bath or what...
