Harrison Bay Eagles, White-bellied Sea Eagles Day 62, Africam Black Eagle Kendi Update, Center For Conservation Biology Article About Young Eagles, Verizon Sucks!

The Harrison Bay Eagles spent the night in the nest tree.

Mom was first to make her way into the nest and do some fluffing.

Then she went back onto her branch and Dad made his way down to the nest.

Knowing that Dad needs a lot of supervision in the nest, Mom came back down into the nest and shoved Dad out of the way. He must really love her -- she gets away with a lot!

I saw Mom feed the chicks a couple of times this morning.

Dad was staying close to the nest.

It looks like SE15's feathers are lighter in color than SE16's.

Sometimes, I think their size difference has lessened.

If they are like Bald Eagles, they will spend a lot of time between now and fledging looking out at the world. Soon enough, they will be out in it...

I lost my internet completely Sunday and Monday, the high waters were persistent and kept my telephone junction box submerged so that it never dried out until late last night. I called in to Verizon Thursday or Friday and they "fixed it" today. They didn't do anything, the super high tides are gone now. Thanks for nothing! Verizon sucks! I told them that box is getting submerged and it needs to be elevated. Of course, they did nothing.

Big Sur Condor Day 139, Harrison Bay Eagles, White-bellied Sea Eagles Day 57 & 58, Loch of the Lowes Osprey Migration Update, Southwest Florida Cam Is Up, Flooding/Verizon DSL Sucks!

I didn't get to do a blog entry yesterday. (See explanation at bottom.) So, here are the s'caps from yesterday. The Big Sur Condor chick is still hanging around the nest. I found out that the chick accidentally adjusted the camera angle while wingercizing. And they can't approach the nest to fix it because the chick is too old. 

This is the lead-free feeding area for the condor flock.

It was a wet day at the Harrison Bay Eagle nest yesterday. But we did get to see both adults. Here's one.

They are going to continue to do nestorations to prepare for the next nesting season.

Later in the day, they both visited the nest.

I think the branch being moved is covered in lichen.

They both briefly perched in the nest before flying away. This is the last s'cap I got yesterday before I lost my internet.

They really fan the heck out of each other when they wingercize. The other chick is in the process of standing up to get out of the way.

The Southwest Florida Eagle Cam is running now. I know people that love Ozzie are still upset, but it will be interesting seeing what happens now at this nest.

When there are super high tides, I lose my internet connection. Here's why... This is the junction box for my telephone line, without flooding:

Whenever it floods or even rains real hard, I lose my telephone. Which meand that I lose my internet since I have DSL. It's been several hours now since high tide and the box has dried enough for me to get a decent connection. But, high tide is coming again, so my blog entries might be spotty... And this entry is rushed because I'm scared I'll lose my internet before I can hit the post button...

Verizon Rant (AKA Verizon Sucks), Camellia's location, Find Momo, Funny Post on Feathered Photography Blog

I take screen captures of nests and mail them to myself so I can put them on my blog. But my Verizon webmail stopped working. I can't save my jpg attachments to my computer. I spent a while with their help desk and the guy can't help me. Said he can transfer me to their special help. Forget what he called it. Said there's a charge and they'd go over it with me. While waiting for the new helper, I forwarded the email to my gmail account. And then was able to save the pictures to my computer. Their paid help came on the line and tole me their services are available for $15 a month with a 10 month commitment. I told him that wasn't acceptable. He said they also offer 72 hours of help for $89. Crazy, right? Then he said they offer 30 minutes of help for $40. I let him know that I didn't appreciate them trying to screw me over after having been a customer of theirs for so long. Their DSL is horrible anyway. Most times, after having my computer in standby, my wireless stops working. I have to turn off my computer, reset the router, then boot up my computer. And even then, it's a 50/50 shot that it will work. Bottom line, Verizon sucks!
