The Dyfi Osprey were enjoying the day.
Surprise, surprise! HB8 fledged on Saturday evening while I was out at a pool tournament. And I didn't realize it until I was in the chat room tonight. Here's HB8 taking off tonight from the bouncy branch. This is wings up in mid-leap.
Here's the video of the take-off and an Eaglet can briefly be seen flying. My question is: Did HB7 Fledge? (2:04)
The siblings spent some time at sunset contemplating the world around them.
Then HB8 flew over to another part of the nest tree.
The Scottish Wildlife Trust's Loch of the Lowes Osprey were also enjoying a beautiful day. The brown feathers with white tips that signifies an Osprey juvenile are starting to show. The shafts with flight feathers growing in is visible on the outstretched wing.
Growing babies are hungry babies!
Here's a nice family s'cap:
All three babies are preening in this s'cap. Osplets preen more than any other bird that I've watched on a cam. It is almost impossible to get a s'cap of all three without somebody having their face buried in their wingpit!
So cute! One baby has its eyes closed and is using another baby as a pillow!
I think that the White Rock Eaglets like to face the rising sun.
