The Harrison Bay Eagle Fledglings are spending the night on their favorite branch again tonight:
At the Scottish Wildlife Trust's Loch of the Lowes Osprey nest, FR4 still hasn't fledged. FR4 is very large, obviously a female. Females take longer to reach full size, delaying their fledge. She still stretched her wings, today even though she didn't fly...
She is starting to feel the wind. She did some really great helicoptering.
Going higher...
...and higher. Yes, that's the tip of her left wing and tail at the top of the frame. The way she is feeling the wind, I think she will fledge tomorrow...
The babies formed a neat triangle during nap time today and zoomer gave us a great view. The two fledglings are tired from flying and have their heads down. FR4 is starting straight at the camera.
Today, FR2 came in for a landing, hovering over the nest for a few seconds before gently landing in the nest. It was an awesome landing! Then FR4 did some serious wingercizing and got a lot of height while helicoptering. Here's the Helicoptering video (1:53).
Fledge watch starts tomorrow at the Dyfi Osprey nest.
