Berry College Eaglet Day 40, Hays, Northeast Florida, Southwest Florida, Two Harbors, and White Rock Bald Eagle Nests, Bald Eagle Camellia Checks In

The Berry College Eaglet is 40 days old today. This eaglet could be halfway to fledging! The Norfolk Botanical Garden eaglets fledged between 72 and 83 days. Watching Mom and Dad here:

Look at the tail feathers coming in:

I don't know what the chick is looking at here. Its head is turned sideways (we are looking at the top of its head). Birds have better visual resolution when they turn their heads sideways...

Another good look at the tail feathers:

It was a soggy day at the Hays nest. Another day without seeing the babies...

It looks like Mom did get to dry out:

I got to see both of the Northeast Florida Fledglings. It wasn't always a good look at both of them, with one mostly off the bottom of the screen here:

And the light was harsh and they were preoccupied with cleaning up the nest. But, at least I found them in the nest at the same time...

Which is more than I got at the Southwest Florida nest. I checked in twice. Although the youngster hasn't fledged yet, it didn't spend much time in the nest either... It's 99 days old today. This eaglet is trying to set a record for slowest to fledge! Maybe it's waiting until tomorrow to fledge...

I did get to see the Two Harbors baby. Just the butt here:

And then a good look at the baby:

I didn't get to see what's happening in the nest bowl at the White Rock nest. Hopefully, this nest still has two eggs:

Bald Eagle Camellia checked in today. He has been exploring!
